Larchmont Desk Project: A Workspace Reinvented

In a compact family home where functionality and aesthetics had to work hand in hand, I was brought in to design and execute a bespoke workspace for two parents who regularly work from home. The brief called for a solution that felt integrated, beautiful, and highly practical.

I created custom cabinetry featuring curved open shelving for treasured items, an arched cabinet with soft-close drawers, and a discreet pull-out shelf for a type pad or laptop — all finished with elegant brass hardware. Painted in Farrow & Ball’s “Borrowed Light,” the soft blue cabinetry brings a calm, cohesive energy to the space without overwhelming its small footprint.

Thoughtfully tailored to the clients’ needs, this workspace proves that even hardworking corners of the home can feel elevated, personal, and beautifully resolved.
